Research

We work with researchers… to understand the underlying causes of mental health problems, and how to diagnose, treat and, ultimately, to prevent them.

Collaboration

We build communities of interest… between researchers, practitioners, policymakers, innovators and families to build understanding and help generate ideas for innovations

Innovation

We help accelerate the translation of promising innovations into practice.

What are our goals?

We are working towards a better future for young people, where mental health problems are significantly reduced in prevalence and severity. We strive to:

  • Reduce the number of young people who experience mental health problems, particularly anxiety and depression,
  • Help young people enter adulthood with greater resilience to mental health conditions, and thereby
  • Reduce the number of young people who take their own lives.

YPMH has published Changing Minds – a new approach to understanding and treating depression in young people.

“Transferring medical research into practice takes an average of 17 years - and longer to address complex problems. We help accelerate the translation of promising innovations into practice by supporting the use of modern innovation methods which are well-researched and applied in other fields. These include technology and innovation management, systems engineering, innovation policy and ecosystem transformation.
