Changing Minds

This report from YPMH, Changing Minds, has four key ambitions:

• To explain why we urgently need a new approach to understanding and treating depression in young people.
• To set out as causal pathways what is already known about the psychological, biological and social causes of depression, and use this as a starting point for discussion and to help us identify the most promising opportunities for innovation.
• To show how innovation and technology management techniques developed at the University of Cambridge can help us build consensus about what a new approach to treating depression should look like – and the steps we need to take to make it happen.
• To engage the whole community of researchers, clinicians, policymakers, research funders, healthcare managers, regulators, pharmaceutical and medtech companies, patients and their families in our ambition.
